5 Tips To Avoid Oily Skin In Summer

What does Summer do to your skin and How can you avoid it?

Indeed, Summer is the season to let go and show off that beautiful skin of yours by wearing casual clothes. But unfortunately for many countries the season brings with itself a ton of skin problems, most of which are caused by the un-ending sweating. Due to the excessive oil discharge from our skin, our facial skin develops pores which then become clogged by the sweating. And so, the cycle keeps on moving.  The oily skin eventually leads to acne and all types of skin problems.

So how should we avoid such a disaster? Well as it is said, where there's a will there's a way!

Tips for Skin Care Routine

Here are some skin care tips to incorporate into your summer skin care routine;

1. Change Your Cleanser

Skin cleansers play a vital role in regulating your natural oils of your face. If you are using a very hard face wash or skin cleanser, it could drain all your natural oils and leave your skin de-hydrated. The patched up skin then secretes sebum to cover up for the lost oils which results into oily skin. Thus, your skin is oily because of being dried out in the first place. So your skin care routine for oily skins must include a mild or foamy face wash that regulates your natural oils and not drink it all up.

2. Use Less makeup

This is a very common misconception that if our skin doesn't look fresh one day, we put o makeup to make it look fresh. However, skin care does not work  this way. If it was on me, I would prohibit the use of makeup in summer season. We do not realize this because we are not able to see the damage while it being done and then blame the acne for everything. While the truth of the matter is, when we have oily skin and our facial glands are sweating all day long, the extra sebum gets caught in our pores. Amid that, if we have any type of makeup on, it blocks the way for the skin to breathe thus clogging the dirt and sebum into our pores. This is what directly causes acne, black heads and white heads.

Therefore, for oily skin care routine having a no makeup policy in summer should be a must.

3. Exfoliate For Clearer Pores

To avoid your pores from getting clogged, skin cleanser as well as exfoliation is very important.  Exfoliation in summer is the ultimate skin care tip. It takes out all the dirt that gets stuck in your pores and removes excess oil from your face. This step in skin care routine for oily skin is crucial for blackheads and white heads as scrubbing or exfoliating extracts most of them automatically.

4. Use A Mild Toner

Once your skin is exfoliated, the next step to your oily skin care routine should be a mild toner. These toners are usually alcoholic, so their usage beyond a certain limit could also prove to be harmful. But toners play a very important role in cleansing your skin from inside out. Plus, after exfoliation our facial pores are all open and to keep them from catching dirt, it is imminent to close them all. For this we use a mild toner.

For this, take a cotton pad. Soak it in the toner and then gently apply it on your face. In this way, any remaining dirt is cleaned up, all your pores are now closed and you are good to go.

5. Use Oil Control Compact

Oil control compact could prove to be a life saver for people with oily skins in summer season. The compact is made with a combined formula of oil controlling agents and sun block that it gives you a complete package to spend the rest of your day tension free. Compacts can easily be found from any drug store ranging through different prices. Most common brands that offer compact powders are Maybelline, Sweet Touch London, Loreal, Too Faced and many more.

These were some of the tips and tricks that if followed properly could go a long way with you through summer. These five tips summarize the skin care routine for oily skin and how people can work on their skin care throughout the season.
